Level 45 : Master Modder
Hey everyone, welcome to the relaunch of the Survivalist Mod! We have now released the first build for version 1.7.2. We've started from scratch, and rethought everything. Overall we feel that we've made a much more polished, high quality mod. It's quite simple right now, but deep and complex enough that the main features should make for some interesting gameplay. We urge you to try it out! We plan to create a new Wiki soon, but for now you can find everything you need over at our Minecraft Forum Thread. You'll find it on a lovely yellow button at the side.
If you find a bug, please report it here. Thanks!
The Survivalist Mod is a fairly self explanatory one. It is a mod that aims to shift the focus of Minecraft's survival mode from simple resource collection and construction to in-depth survival in the vein of S.T.A.L.K.E.R and DayZ. You will need to find water, cook food and collect resources to craft medical supplies. All the while, keeping an eye on your body temperature and trying not to die. You will need to keep your wits about you to survive in harsh world of the Survivalist Mod.
As a side note, we will also be putting emphasis on aesthetic customisation in our mod.
You can find our Minecraft forum thread here and our website here.
Please note that it is important that you use this method to install it, as there is one class file that requires a minor alteration.
Version v1.4-a Release Build
1. Download Survivalist Alpha 1.4 Release Build from here.
2. Download the most recent Forge Installer 1.7.2 from here.
3. Run the Forge Installer and install it to your client.
3. Locate your Minecraft installation, and open the "mods" folder.
4. Put the Survivalist Mod jar file in that folder. IF YOU DOWNLOADED THE SURVIVALIST MOD ZIP, YOU MUST EXTRACT THE JAR FIRST. PUTTING THE ZIP FOLDER IN THE MODS FOLDER WILL NOT WORK.
5. Run the Minecraft Launcher and launch the "Forge" profile.
- Health regeneration disabled
- Craftable medical supplies added (A healing cover can be crafted with one piece of paper and one rose red in any shape)
- You can get thirsty
- Thirst is affected by body temperature
- Drinking from potion bottles filled with water replenished thirst
- Standing in a body of water and pressing "F" replenishes thirst
- The temperature of the biome the player is in.
- Whether or not the player is wet (In a body of water, in the rain)
- Whether or not the player is sprinting.
- Whether or not the player is near a heat source (fire, lava, active furnace)
- Drinking water also lowers body temperature, but only when player is warm.
- Indicator in top left that informs player of what their body temperature is doing (warming up, cooling down, comfortable, etc...)
- Chat messages that inform the player of any changes in their status.

1.4.1-a Hotfix : 05/19/2014 8:53:52 pm5/19/14
The bugs fixed are:
- Texture and name on healing cover now work correctly
- Drinking from a bucket of milk now replenishes thirst
- When you are freezing cold, you no longer lose all cold slowing effects
- Drinking from a body of water now has a sound
- The bizarre characters in chat messages created by the mod are now gone
- The chat messages created by the mod are now colour coded
1.4-a is now released : 05/19/2014 11:36:27 am5/19/14
Then we ended up having deadlines, exams, all sorts of things going on at University, and once again the mod slipped through the cracks. It's unfortunate, but unfortunately life takes priority. Anyway, we're done with that stuff now, and have managed to squash that crash. The mod is now playable, and available to download. We have a lovely bug report form available at our website, and all the information you need is on the Minecraft Forum thread. Go nuts!
1.4-a Release, Minecraft 1.7.2 and Streaming : 02/12/2014 1:47:02 pm2/12/14
We will be streaming our first playtest of build 1.4-a tonight at 9pm GMT, we hope you can join us. Feel free to ask questions, we'll be talking about our plans going forward and what the current situation is. General chitchat is welcome too! We hope you can come by:
Current Situation : 10/31/2013 10:03:00 pm10/31/13
The situation right now is that I am going to take over development. I am doing a degree in games programming, and will start work very soon. I am going to practice by trying to update the mod to the more recent Minecraft updates, and then by working on some bugfixes. If all goes to plan, hopefully by Christmas I will be working on the next feature updates.
I don't expect anyone to hang around until then, but if you keep us followed, then I will make an announcement when there is something new to show you. That way, you can all be interested again when we actually give you something to be interested about!
Sorry everyone, there's nothing I would hate more than dropping this project. I really care about it. Thanks for reading.
Survivalist Mod v1.3 Inventory Tweaks and Minecraft 1.6.2 : 07/15/2013 8:25:28 am7/15/13
Version 1.6.2 - Error System Fixed : 07/11/2013 7:46:24 pm7/11/13
We've fixed the error system now, so if you are experienced at installing mods, you may use whichever method suits you best. If you get any errors come up once you join a world, simply check the error page on our Wiki for information on how to fix it. You can find a permanent link to that page on Mod Page here on PMC.
Don't forget, if you are using an older version of Minecraft for any reason, we have a backlog of every old version of our mod still available to download here. Enjoy 1.6.2 everyone!
Inventory Fixes and Error System : 07/08/2013 8:30:08 pm7/08/13
Please keep in mind that this is an Alpha, and is in very early development. We are just trying to produce an enjoyable experience for as many people as possible in our spare time, and will respond to any suggestions or requests. All we ask is that you are considerate of both the early stage we are at and the limited time we may have available. Thanks!
Version 1.2 has been released. We apologise that there are not many new features in this version, but they are currently incomplete. We don't want to release a bunch of incomplete stuff, so we will be releasing a stable version here. Any link to new stuff has been broken in this version as a result. This version addresses the issues people have been having with the inventory being blocked out and unblocks it again. To compensate, inventory weight has become more restrictive at the start. To clarify, your whole inventory will be visible, but how much you can store in it will be quite low.
We are happy to address any tweaks people believe should be made to the weights of items and different weight limits. I personally believe that the backpacks aren't quite effective enough. We are currently working on giving backpacks their own custom slots so that they can be worn with armour, but have been having a small bit of trouble with that, so just stick with us for a little bit. You can find the recipes on the wiki, and don't forget, the backpack art is temporary.
Edit: The error system is somewhat redundant at the moment, as for some reason if you install it any other way than the way you're supposed to it crashes. To avoid any issues, please make sure you follow the instructions we provide.
Thanks for your continued patience!

Backpack Redesign : 06/16/2013 11:26:13 am6/16/13
There will also perhaps be higher tier backpacks that add weight, and extra slots to your inventory. Lastly, we will be adding custom slots for your backpacks, so they won't be worn in your armour slots any more.
New Patch : 06/09/2013 8:45:40 am6/09/13
I will be posting the recipes for the backpacks on the Wiki later today. The recipes are only temporary currently, as we will be adding a fabric item that is required to craft them a bit later. The current recipes are a bit strange.
The new patch is now available for download, so go get it!

We will be playtesting it today, and uploading a video of our adventures on Youtube later. Be sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel to see the video as soon as it's uploaded! The goal of today is to give players an insight in to the new release as played by us, as well as eliminate as many bugs as possible before release. If all goes well, you will see the full release very soon!
Thanks for reading.
Inventory Weight and Backpacks : 05/30/2013 12:48:46 pm5/30/13
There is much to do before we release this build. Many things need working out and fixing. We want to add in a few more sizes of backpacks and the ability to combine your backpack with your armour, to begin with. These backpacks will have two purposes - they will increase your maximum weight limit and unlock new lines in your inventory. It will therefore be possible to unlock your full inventory again. We also have plans for specialist backpacks such as the miners backpack - a large sized backpack that makes all ores and stone weigh half the amount. This should give you an idea of the kind of progression our system should allow.
Please note that current item weights are not final, and we will be tweaking them before we fully release Alpha v1.0, and in the future we will add a system allowing players to manually configure the weights of items from other mods they may have installed. We may also overhaul the GUI of our mod and make a few tweaks and changes very soon.
We will have more news for you soon, thanks for reading!
